Recipe For An Easy Harry Potter Costume

My son was Harry Potter a few years ago for his birthday party. His Harry Potter costume was easy to put together and consisted of a few pieces, some of which could readily reused.

We started with a basic black cape. Every young boy or man should, of course, own a black cape. They are pretty easy to come by and not to hard to make either.

Then we added a striped red and gray rugby shirt. This was an investment in a comfortable shirt that my son wore frequently for a couple of years.

My son was  happiest in his blue jeans so we used those. A dark pair would be best and, of course, you could substitute black or navy dress pants or chinos.

Add a pair of black rimmed eye glasses and a magical, collectible Harry Potter wand or a stick which picked your son in the local woods.

Tossle his hair and add a scar and, presto magnifico, you have an easy Harry Potter costume.

Be sure to let us know if you dress a child in your family as Harry Potter for Halloween or for any other occasion.  Send us a picture and we'll add it to our Hallowee blog!
