Lady in the Water Movie Review

Lady in the Water Movie Review

Looking for a Halloween movie that is suspenseful and scary but not gory? Try Lady in the Water.

Lady in the Water is a M. Night Shyamalan movie which received mixed reviews.  It follows the story of a maintenance man who finds a young woman in the pool of his apartment building only the young woman turns out to be a water nymph who needs help to return to her own ‘blue’ world.

The Movie Mom, of whom I am a great fan, sums it up nicely when she says, "It is a terrible movie, but it is terrible in an interesting and often highly watchable way. There have been better films that I have enjoyed less."  This movie is rated PG-13 and she deems it suitable for children in the middle grades and up. I agree.

My family found it entertaining (and scary in a few select moments.)  The main acting was well done; the cinematography very nicely done.  The weakness in this film is perhaps the plot. However, if you are looking for an entertaining movie with a BOO factor, you might check this one out.
